Hi guys,
Here's the sit we're going to use for our play by post RPG!!!
The game system I want to use is called GURPS, which stands for Generic Universal Role Playing System. The reason for this is that it is able to adapt to just about any game type or genre.
There's a really easy character generator here:
lapse.nerdvana.org.au/code/gurps/
Or you can download a far fuller character generator here:
sourceforge.net/projects/gcs-java/
The second link will let you use a JAVA utility and has a greater list of skills and advantages and disadvantages.
When you run the character gen from sourceforge, you need to click create character sheet. This takes you to the sheet itself, which is an odd thing to edit. You can type into the attributes field and modify the ST, IQ, DX etc - strength, Intelligence, Dexterity, charisma etc. As you do so, notice your points depleting. You can also give yourself, advantages, skills and disadvantages. Note that disadvantages will give you back a certain amount of points. So it's all a bit of a balance. To access these you need to click 'Item, Open Detail Editor' and then you can drag them accross. If you are putting a skill accross, you'll need to buy points in that skill, again just by typing in a figure. Then you can buy equipment too and add it in. Remember TECH LEVEL 4.
If all this seems to complicated, use the first link and that'll walk you through it.
What I'd like you to do, is to read the information in the Game World section. Create a character that is suitable. Post that character into the 'characters' board, with a little background detail about your character. Then you can feel free to respond to the game turns.
NOTE: You need to tell the character generators how many points you are spending to create the characters. I want you to stick to 100 points. And (at the moment) I want you to stick to realistic advantages and disadvantages. (There will be room for some serious wackiness later!)
If we can post a few times a week, then the game will tick along nicely!
Look forward to playing!!!
